How to use Nikon D40 charger in Japan???
Hi.
I have a Nikon D40 camera camera which i bought in Australia, and i am living in Australia.
I am going to Japan next year for a year and am taking my D40. I know that i can buy a Plug Adaptor to use my australian product in Japan, but what about converting the voltage???
What do i buy, or how do I use my Australian charger in Japan???
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Japanese voltage is 100v, as our electricity is 240v you shouldn’t have a problem with voltage especially as most new electrical goods now are able to accept “50-60h, 100-240v” – you can find this info on your charger. I took a laptop to Japan from Australia and it worked fine. You will have to get a plug adaptor to change the Australian 3-pronged plug to a (straight) 2-pronged plug. Get it here or in Japan. Becareful of buying goods in Japan though – you have to make sure they take 100-240v or get a transformer if you want to use the good in Australia. 240v goods work on 100v but not the other way around!
